Bedford’s COVID-19 Recovery Team is continuing to monitor the evolving state of COVID-19 in our community. This includes:

  • websites and social media feeds for State and Federal Government, SA Health and SAPOL
  • daily press conferences by SA Health and State and Federal Governments
  • following known daily press conferences, Bedford’s COVID-19 Recovery Group meet to discuss additional actions that are needed and then communicate our current activities through messages, like this one
  • contact tracing and exposure sites

There are now Four Tiers of Exposure Sites which require people to take different actions.

Tier 1 (Most stringent)

If you were at any of the Tier 1 Exposure Sites, get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days with all members of your household.

If you were at any of the exposure site locations, at the specified dates and times, you and your household members must:

  • immediately quarantine for 14 days since you were at the location
  • get tested again on day 5 and day 13
  • complete a form (via the SA Health website) to notify that you were at an exposure location

Tier 4 (least stringent)

If you have been at ANY of the Exposure Sites in the time specified on the SA Health website you MUST Notify the Bedford COVID-19 helpline on:

Restrictions

As an ‘essential service’ Bedford operates under Level 5 Restriction which requires Employees and Staff to stay at home, except for the following:

  • Essential work
  • To obtain essential goods or services
  • Essential Health Services including getting COVID-19 tested or vaccinated
  • Care and compassion grounds
  • Exercise with those in your household

Changes to Tier 5 restrictions from our last update are:

  • masks not being required outdoors unless you cannot adhere to physical distancing of 1.5 metres
  • masks still need to be worn on passenger transport services, in public places, health care services and high-risk settings – QR coding on public transport was introduced yesterday, however may not have rolled-out to all modes of transport
  • a single person over the age of 16 who doesn't live with a spouse or other partner is now able to visit another person such as a friend, relative or someone with whom they are in a relationship

Immunisation

While immunisation is not mandatory, health authorities continue to urge everyone to consider getting vaccinated.

All metropolitan Bedford Clients or Staff, regardless of age, can now get a free vaccination at:

Aspen Medical, 17 Main North Road, Medindie.

Telephone: Bookings on 0437 325 123

A COVID-19 Consent Form is required and, should you prefer, on-line bookings are available.

Aspen Medical is in the process of establishing vaccination clinics in some regional areas and we’ll update you on those details when they are provided to us.

At Bedford, we are in the process of identifying a vaccination record process by which we can register the names of Clients and Staff who have been vaccinated for COVID. These records will remain confidential and will be helpful to us should anyone at Bedford report to be COVID positive.
