23 March - COVID-19 Update

Welcome to the latest update from the COVID taskforce. Today we have a couple of important reminders!

COVID Text Line – 0428 598 199

We can’t stress enough the importance of reporting to our COVID Text Line if you are absent from work due to having symptoms or being a close contact, or you have a COVID test result. It is our central portal for all information on COVID status amongst our staff, clients and employees, and where we gather your information for mandatory reporting to SA Health.

When you contact the COVID Text Line we can respond to you with links to resources like the ‘Decision Making Tool’, which ensures you follow the latest advice for High Risk settings and with other advice such as whether or not to re-test, how long to isolate for or when you can return to work.

Many staff report results and absences directly to their managers (thank you!) but it’s important that you also send through your results and close contact status to our COVID Text Line 0428 598 199.

We recommend you save this number to your phone so you have easy access to it when and if you need it.

Testing When Moving Between Sites

If you regularly move between work sites and regions, you will already be aware that it is a requirement to take a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before moving from your first work site to another. A negative result will allow you to proceed to the second work site safely.

The exception to this is if you’ve taken a RAT in the prior 48 hours, ie, if you frequently move between various work sites every day, you don’t need to take a test between every site transition, but only after 48 hours has elapsed since your last negative test.

For those of us who travel between sites less frequently, the RAT procedure is attached. Please closely note the protocols for screening, surveillance and reporting RAT results. Don’t forget to label your RAT specimen with the date to avoid mix-ups.

*All results from RATs issued by Bedford must be reported

We will be updating and reminding of our COVID protocols early next week following the first press conference of our new Premier on Friday, so please stay tuned for that update.
