During her career Janet has developed strong experience with strategic leadership, operational and financial management, and stakeholder engagement. Janet is guided by principles of community and social equality in her work. Graduating from the University of South Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Janet is an advisor and mentor to CEO’s and Executives, providing expert guidance underpinned by compassion and inclusivity.

With a background in civil and commercial construction management, Matthew Hender brings his broad experience in strategic guidance and planning to the Bedford Board. Matthew provides expert consultation on issues relating to infrastructure, technology, and resources. Across his tenured career, Matthew has played integral roles on some of Australia’s biggest commercial projects, including the Prominent Hill Mine, and the US$10bn+ Sino iron ore mine in WA. His skills in contract management and negotiation, and the development and implementation of processes, are invaluable to the Bedford Board.

Joining the Board in 2021, Prue has a strong background in public health, and brings her experience in senior management and executive leadership to the Bedford board. Motivated by her lived experience of disability (Prue's brother lives with Down Syndrome), Prue brings her unique insights and advice on how to navigate through change. From her perspective as a guardian for her brother, she particularly resonates with Bedford’s purpose of ‘supporting people with disability to live the life they choose’ and is passionate about pathways to learning and new experiences.

Ian Stone is a strong leader, with over 30 years of experience in the Financial Services sector, working as a CEO and Non-Executive Director across some of Australia’s most recognisable organisations. As the previous Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of RAA, Ian was able to build up the organisation to new strengths in areas of membership, employee satisfaction and revenue. Ian is ‘passionate about creating value and growth through innovation, culture, and business transformation.’ A Chartered Accountant, Ian’s expertise lies in strategy, risk management, governance, change management, compliance, and financial management.
