Every year on International Day of People with Disability we celebrate work milestones across our sites with Years of Service awards. In the lead up to IDPWD on December 3, we're shining the spotlight on some of our many dedicated clients who’ve notched up decades at Bedford!

Meet Lyall – he’s celebrating 30 years at Bedford Port Lincoln this year!

In his early days at Bedford (originally known as LEPSH and then Compass), Lyall worked in many roles including looking after native animals on a small farm, domestic and commercial gardening work, and collecting and grading barn-laid eggs.

More recently, Lyall has helped make oyster baskets, octopus traps, and tuna boxes for the local fishing industry.

A standout highlight for Lyall is meeting his wife Alison (pictured) at work – they’ve now been married for 25 years!

Lyall is also grateful for the lifelong friends he's made at Bedford.

A keen traveler, Lyall says he saves up his annual leave to journey interstate for a month every year.

Congratulations on your milestone Lyall and for your hard work at Port Lincoln over the years!
