Since joining us seven years ago, Kaylan has enjoyed a variety of roles at Bedford and has become an integral part of our NDIS transition team.
What led you to work in the disability sector?
My love for gardening and helping people, which then lead me to many positions within Bedford.
What do you think is the most positive thing about the NDIS?
People are getting the opportunities and support they need to achieve goals in all aspects of their life.
What changes do you think this will make for our employees and Bedford?
Our employees will be able to achieve goals beyond employment. This will give Bedford and the people we support the opportunity to not only focus on employment goals but building social and life skills as well.
What do you love about your role at Bedford?
Getting the opportunity to meet so many great people. I enjoy being a part of someone's whole Bedford experience, from the application process to seeing them achieve their day-to-day goals.
What interests do you have outside of work?
I enjoy tasting different types of beers. This summer I am looking forward to making my first home brew. Spending time with my family is always fun and most important to me and I also enjoy cooking for my lovely partner of 15 years.
What's a fun fact about you?
I am obsessed with my two beautiful cats Thomas and Tanks. I have been known to walk one of my cats on a lead outside. After work if the weather is good I walk my cats outside by the ocean and we watch the birds and dolphins play.
