Meet Rowe - Bedford’s resident movie buff. In addition to working part-time in the packaging team at Panorama, Rowe enjoys watching a couple of movies a week and sharing his thoughts on new releases and old classics.

My favourite type of movies are fast-paced action movies with a good storyline that keeps you thinking.

I've seen some action movies with no story to them and I find that boring.

Recently, I saw Mortal Kombat at my local cinema. I haven't been able to get out to the cinema much in the last 12 months so it was nice to get the full experience again.

I had heard really good reviews, so I knew I had to check it out for myself.

There were a lot of exciting action scenes, and it was quite gory!

The new movie is heaps better than the old one released in the 90s, in my opinion.

The effects were really good, and I think the story is fascinating. I love that it was made in South Australia. It shows that we can produce high-quality movies in our own backyard that are just as good as the ones from Hollywood.

There were many good actors, some who I hadn’t heard before.

I really liked the actor who played the main character Cole Young, and the character Kano who can shoot lasers from his eye. They were really believable and I loved watching their scenes.

I would say this was one of the best movies I’ve seen for a while - I would put this in my top 20. My top 10 would include Star Wars, Avengers, and Fast & Furious movies.

However, if you aren't into action or graphic movies, perhaps skip this one!

Rowe's rating - 5/5 stars

Stay tuned for Rowe's review of Fast & Furious 9, in cinemas later this month!
