Every year on International Day of People with Disability we celebrate work milestones across our sites with Years of Service awards. In the lead up to IDPWD on 3 December, we're shining the spotlight on some of our many dedicated clients who’ve notched up decades at Bedford!

Whyalla team member Pauline celebrates 47 years at Bedford in 2021!

In her early days at Bedford, Pauline worked in the carpentry section, using many different tools to make cabinets and pageant floats.

She has also done a lot of sewing work for BHP including balaclavas, sweat bands, and neck flaps.

“I felt proud and more confident when I started to learn new skills. I have seen a lot of different people come through the business over the years and made lots of friends," she says.

“I like working here and enjoy the people.”

Pauline is an avid Adelaide Crows fan and often wins the footy tips!

Also receiving a Years of Service award is Pauline's colleague and fellow Crows supporter, David - he's been with Bedford for 20 years.

David has always enjoyed coming to work to socialise and have a laugh with his co-workers. During his time at Bedford, David has worked in many roles within the gardening, sewing, and packaging departments.

He is known for his strong work ethic – David's supervisors see him grow in confidence every day and are continuously impressed with his commitment!

Congratulations to you both, and all Whyalla Years of Service recipients!
