The 7500m2 warehouse boasts 6560 pallet spaces, two container loading docks, a temperature controlled food room, a management system for tracking pallets and the capability for pharmaceutical grade work.
However, perhaps the most exciting development for the team is the capacity to take on more support staff and new contracts – in particular our latest major account with food giant, Nestle.
Gordon Griff, General Manager for National Accounts, Furniture and Stores says several new jobs have already been created and predicts a growth from 22 positions to up to 150.
“As part of our new account with Nestle, this month we have launched a new Kit Kat 50 Pack into Costco, we’ve packed Le Snak & Milo Bars and unloaded 87 Containers of Quality Streets and Dairy Box chocolates – this is equivalent to 538 tonnes of chocolate or 2041 pallets of delicious re-packing,” Gordon says.
That’s on top of all the existing contracts and promotional kits for Beam Suntory such as Canadian Club, Jim Beam and Midori.
“Next time you are at a BWS, Dan Murphy or going through a Duty Free store you will see some of the hard work our team does on show,” Gordon says.
Clearly it’s a busy time at Erskine Park, however the team is rising to the challenge and so to thank our staff Bedford recently hosted an Open Day for all employees, parents and carers.
“This was a fantastic day with lots of positive comments and parents who were very excited about the new opportunities our Erskine Park site will provide,” Gordon says.
