Bedford Group relocated packaging operations in NSW to a new location in Erskine Park to service a number of national commercial customers and offer supported employment for members of the Western Sydney community living with disability. Recent changes in commercial and disability services market conditions have led to our operations at Erskine Park to be no longer financially viable.
The new disability funding landscape under the NDIS has led to an environment of intense competition for Clients living with disability and disruption among ADE’s (Australian Disability Enterprises). Also, the FMCG commercial packaging and warehousing market in Erskine Park Sydney is highly competitive with it being a new significant industrial site with major players that have facilities operating at maximum efficiency due to automation and specialist systems.
As a result, we have made a strategic decision to wind down and close operations at Erskine Park in Sydney’s West over a 4 to 6 month period. With no plans to open any other sites or services, this will mean that Bedford will no longer be a disability service provider in NSW.
A comprehensive transition plan is in place to support those affected.
It is business as usual at all other Bedford sites.
Bedford would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the Erskine Park operations to date.
We’re more than happy to answer queries regarding the wind down and closure of Erskine Park from our Panorama head office on (08) 8275 0211 or email@example.com
