About Beacon Laundry

Beacon Laundry is a social enterprise that provides commercial laundry services while creating job opportunities for people facing barriers to employment, including those with disabilities, mental health challenges, or language barriers. With locations in Bangalow, NSW, and more recently Lonsdale SA, in collaboration with Bedford Group, we deliver premium laundry services while helping people from all backgrounds succeed. We aim to support local communities in Adelaide by offering jobs and career pathways for everyone.

About the Role

This role is primarily responsible for contribution to the overall daily laundry operations

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Sorting linen before laundering
  • Moving linen trolleys and loading and unloading them
  • Loading and unloading washing machines and dryers at regular intervals to ensure a steady flow
  • Using large scale machines that fold, press and process linen
  • Feeding items through ironer
  • Manual sorting, folding and ironing of linen


About You

As a laundry worker, you will play an important role in our operations, ensuring that the Laundry is providing and delivering a quality service to our clients.

Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a team
  • Understand and apply quality control techniques
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to fill shifts when required


For this role, the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford.

  • A National Police Clearance (no older than six months old)
  • Driver’s licence
  • NDIS worker screening clearance, or other NDIS approved clearance to work in the disability sector
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
  • 100 points of identification
