What is the CRC?

The CRC is a Committee of people with disability who are clients of Bedford. We represent Bedford clients, give feedback to Bedford, share ideas and make things better for Bedford clients. We come from different parts of Bedford:

  • Learning and Experiences
  • Residential
  • Employment

Who we are?

We are the 6 Committee members of the CRC :

What we do?

We work with people and groups at Bedford like:

  • Bedford Clients
  • Bedford Services and Advisory Leadership Team
  • Bedford Executive
  • The Board’s Service Governance Committee (SGC)
  • The Bedford Board

We meet one time a month and do things like:

  • talk about things important to Bedford
  • make changes
  • give feedback on things like:
    • forms
    • policies
    • procedures
    • different topics
  • share ideas
  • work on projects for Bedford
  • learn new things
  • do workshops

A member of our Committee goes to the quarterly SGC meetings to give them an update on what we have been working with. The SGC sends one of their members to our next meeting to give updates on what their Committee is working on.

We have worked on a lot . Some of our achievements include:

  • writing and presenting a proposal on how the CRC could work with the Board’s Service Governance Committee
  • writing and presenting a proposal on how a Family and Carers Reference Committee could work at Bedford
  • reviewing flyers, forms, policies and procedures for Bedford
  • presenting at Bedford Community Connect
  • sharing ideas on what is important to us
  • sharing feedback
  • completing capacity building workshops
  • participating in Our Voice’s SA advocacy conferences
