Where are the Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs located?
There are seven Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs across Adelaide and regional South Australia, in Panorama, Torrensville, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Mount Gambier, Whyalla and Wallaroo.
How much does it cost? Is it funded through my NDIS plan?
If your NDIS plan includes Core funding for social and community participation, you can access Bedford’s Learning and Experience programs. If you do not have NDIS funding in this area but would like to join in, you can do so by self-funding your supports and services.
For certain activities, there may be a small additional cost, for example to help fund art supplies or groceries for cooking. This will vary depending on the programs offered.
What is the ratio of Disability Support Workers to clients?
Bedford Learning and Experiences provide a 1:4 model. We can also support clients through our programs at a 1:1 model.
What does a typical day look like?
The Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs offer a 24-week program with a wide range of activities such as cooking, art, sewing, sports, gardening, woodworking and technology classes. The client has choice and control over the program they select for the 24 weeks.
How many clients attend the sessions?
The size of the group is often no more than 8 - 12 clients.
What days do the programs run?
The Learning and Experiences hub programs run Monday to Friday.
