    Bedford's purpose is to support people to live the life they choose. We know that everyone is unique, which is why we offer a wide variety of programs and activities to suit different interests and goals. Whether you love art, want to learn life or work-ready skills, or are looking for outdoor adventures, we have something just for you.

    Skills for Life

    We work with you to develop and build on your independent living skills through a range of activities. These activities include numeracy and literacy development, building computer and budgeting skills, gardening, sewing and much more!

    The Arts

    Our programs support artistic expression and showcase our artists' works at exhibitions across the local area. We offer a mix of performance, visual arts and creativity, including painting, music, dance and Cricut. Interested in selling your creations? We can support you with this too.

    More About Experiences

    Bedford Learning and Experiences offers social and active experiences with the Accessible Outdoors Program, Social Saturdays, and the Summer Holiday Program.

    Accessible Outdoors Program

    Designed to get everyone out in nature, the Accessible Outdoors Program takes clients to the great outdoors with activities such as swimming, bush walks, fossicking and kayaking.

    Social Saturdays

    Get together with Learning and Experiences friends through the Social Saturdays program, where clients can explore Adelaide and participate in activities where having FUN is the top priority. Enjoy a range of activities, including virtual reality, visiting adventure parks, eating some delicious food, and a whole lot more.

    Summer Holiday Program

    Keep up the fun with the Summer Holiday Program. Clients can catch up with their Learning and Experiences friends over the holiday season and make new friends, participating in activities that will bring even more festive season joy! Get out and visit amusement parks, go strawberry picking, try your luck at adventure rooms and make the most of the holiday break with our jam-packed Summer Holiday Program.

    What is Bedford Learning and Experiences?

    Bedford Learning and Experiences is an opportunity for people with disabilities to engage, expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and connect with others in enjoyable and meaningful ways.

    Where are the Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs located?

    There are seven Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs across Adelaide and regional South Australia, in Panorama, Torrensville, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Mount Gambier, Whyalla and Wallaroo.

    How much does it cost? Is it funded through my NDIS plan?

    If your NDIS plan includes Core funding for social and community participation, you can access Bedford's Learning and Experience programs. If you do not have NDIS funding in this area but would like to join in, you can do so by self-funding your supports and services.

    For certain activities, there may be a small additional cost, for example to help fund art supplies or groceries for cooking. This will vary depending on the programs offered.

    What is the ratio of Disability Support Workers to clients?

    Bedford Learning and Experiences provide a 1:4 model. We can also support customers through our programs at a 1:1 model.

    What does a typical day look like?

    The Bedford Learning and Experiences hubs offer a 24-week program with a wide range of activities such as cooking, art, sewing, sports, gardening, woodworking and technology classes. The client has choice and control over the program they select for the 24 weeks.

    How many clients attend the sessions?

    The size of the group is often no more than 8 - 12 clients.

    What days do the programs run?

    The Learning and Experiences hub programs run Monday to Friday.

    Bedford's Learning and Experiences programs are designed for adults over 18 years of age.
